The installation was not TOO difficult, but it took me a while. The performance is poor... something in the interface sends clicking sounds that are audible when the music is soft or low. But for the most part, it is a very efficient way to set up your iPod to listen in your vehicle without having to go through an FM station (hate those things!). Still, the next vehicle I get will be iPod ready...

Auto Toys Response: If you are using an aux, the noise you hear is from your mp3 player or the hard drive of the mp3 player. This noise is typically not heard with ipods.

When the system works, audio performance is superb. However, the user interface is inconsistent, several operational details are undocumented, and the support from the manufacturer is limited - "go talk to the reseller" is the frequent chime.

The sound is fantastic. It looks like it was originally installed but is hard to remember how to control the iPod from the Shaker 500 controls. It was very easy to install.

Now I can listen to my iPod in the car and control the iPod from the radio, although i think its weird that the button that control the CD on the radio don't control the iPod as in the REW & FF buttons on the radio control the music menu on the iPod and the FOLDER buttons control the menu & display and the SHUFFLE & TEXT buttons control the REW & FF on the iPod. Why can't the REW & FF buttons control the iPods REW & FF functions, the text button controls the text displayed on the radio, Shuffle controls the Random Play control on the iPod and so on.

I thought this unit was very easy to install, it only took about 30 mins. Plug and play to install. Controls from the radio works very good, any body could install and get working in not time. Highly recommend.
