The fit is perfect however the clock/air con display works intermittently or most of the time NOT AT ALL. This is a sore eye for me because where I should be seeing a full bright red display showing MY MAZDA 6, I am seeing a blank screen. [...]

how i use it:
i do use this kit in a mazda 6 sport without facelift (year 2002) and it works perfectly.
great: general frame fits exactly, DIN Radio can easily be inserted and taken out (e.g. for plug another cable etc.). best alternative to standard radio implementation.
not so great: warning light switch hard to press(but does work). small plastic frame on the front does not fit exactly. (but does not fall down itself). you lose car computer functionality in general (but this has, of course, nothing to do with the product itself).

I got this hoping that it would be a nice replacement for the OE radio interface, so I could replace it with something more versatile. That's exactly what I got, especially with the easy-to-follow instructions that came with it. I was easily able to install the new stereo system with little trouble.
