THIS IS A SEPARATE connection on the amp which is a REQUIRED CONNECTION. It gets 12 volts, the amp turns on. You dont connect this wire, the amp wont turn on even though you hooked up power and ground. The amp will light up, but you will get no audio. Until you hook up the remote wire, the amp will not turn on completely. The remote wire is 12vs + in.

The gain acted more like a volume control and at higher volume levels the sound was distorted. I installed this on my Harley under the fairing. As you turned the gain on the amp up it acted like a volume control the higher the gain the higher the volume turn the gain to almost off and the volume would disapear. Very poor amp the stock harley head unit did a better job powering the 4 ohm sony Xplode speakers.

Auto Toys Response: Gain control is to set the output of the amp, obviously, however, you feed the amp to the rca is very weak. You need to boost your rca preouts, thats why you had poor results. It is NOT the amp, and it the gain control is NOT a volume control. It is a set once configuration.

I have previously reviewed this product attributing a fault to a failure-prone gain knob. Upon further inspection, this turned out to be false. a trace on the board would BURN OFF of the circuit board rendering the amp useless after prolonged, heavy use.

I had purchased this third amplifier with the intention of manually wiring around the burn-prone trace.

When I opened its tiny case however, I was greeted pleasantly by copious amounts of thermal paste, and a COMPLETELY REDESIGNED BOARD!
I noticed much simpler trace routing, and even a very robust wire redirecting some serious power on the reverse of the board.

I am glad that the manufacturer is actually looking at this problem, and doing something about it.

Installed it in my Nissan Hardbody. Was tired of getting my stereo stolen so I just installed this amp to power the sound from my mp3 player phone. The sound is great. A cheap mp3 player didn't give me enough sound though, that's when I switched to my phone and the sound is great for my taste. So loud my friends ask me to lower the volume.
